Youthful Perspectives

The Youthful Perspectives section of this web site is designed to inform teenagers and young adults about the Judgment Seat of Christ and Christ's future Millennial Kingdom.  Our goal is to encourage young believers to practice godly living in an ungodly age and to warn of the dangers of being conformed to this world.  The Bible tells us that the day is coming when Christ will rapture His church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).  At this time, all Christians will stand before Christ to be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10-11).  This judgment does not determine our eternal destiny because as believers in Christ our eternal destiny has already been forever settled.  The eternal life we presently possess is the free gift of God and can never be forfeited or revoked (Romans 6:23, 11:29).  The Judgment Seat of Christ is an examination of the lives we lived as Christians (Romans 14:10-12).  In this judgment, Christ will evaluate how we used what He has given us.  He will evaluate how we used our time, our money, our bodies, our minds, our talents, our spiritual gifts, our opportunities to grow in His Word and to serve Him, etc. (Matthew 25:14-30).

This judgment will determine whether or not we faithfully obeyed God in the use of these things.  And the outcome of this evaluation will determine whether or not Christ will honor us as co-participants (or co-heirs) with Him in His 1,000 year Kingdom on earth (Romans 8:17; Revelation 2:26).  If in this life we walked worthy of our high calling as sons of God, then we will enjoy the privilege of reigning with Christ in His Kingdom (Ephesians 4:1). But, if our evaluation at His Judgment Seat reveals that we neglected or refused to walk in obedience to the Word of God, then the outcome of our judgment will be a severe and horrible chastening (Matthew 22:13; Hebrews 10:30-31).

It is our goal to not only warn believers of the judgment to come but also to prepare them for it.  Therefore we strive to highlight the fact that God has provided a way for us to be freed from sin and from its consequences at the Judgment Seat of Christ.  1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, Jesus will forgive us and restore us to fellowship with Himself.  This forgiveness means that our confessed sin will not follow us to the Judgment Seat and therefore it will not hinder our receiving of the inheritance.  Of course we must understand that part of Biblical confession is an attitude of repentance. This means that not only do we confess our sin to God, but that in our heart we desire not to do it anymore and we seek His help to overcome it.  It is our prayer that God will use the articles in this section to help you grow in Christ and receive the inheritance that has been reserved for you in heaven (1 Peter 1:4).
